AUT students get the surprise of their lives when TV 3’s Jono and Ben make their elevator rides more interesting.

Jono and Ben have created a game show set inside an elevator at AUT.

The pair tricked unsuspecting students into taking part in the game, making their ride to class much more exciting.

The students taking part in the elevator game show were asked a variety of different questions, and as the elevator reached each level they were awarded a variety of prizes.

The TV hosts were aware of the of the disturbance they were causing, but found most people did not have a problem with their presence.

“Everyone so far has been great,” says Jono Pryor.

“Students are very relaxed,” says Ben Boyce, “if we filmed this anywhere else there would be a lot more people saying no.”

The pair also made their way around the university, dropping in to different tutorial classes to talk to the students.

“We wanted to film with celebrities and interview them in the lifts but it turns out really famous people don’t want to be interviewed in elevators, so this had to do” says Mr Boyce.

The pairs presence was a breath of fresh air to stressed students on their way to class.
