Chiefs and All Blacks centre Seta Tamanivalu is set to sign with the Crusaders for the 2017 Super Rugby season, sources have confirmed.
Tamanivalu was a standout in the Chiefs midfield in 2016 and received an All Blacks call-up for the Welsh series earlier this year.
A Chiefs media representative said today they were unable to comment on player movements, but sources within the franchise confirmed Tamanivalu had been approached by the Crusaders.
Sources from the Crusaders also confirmed the franchise was close to signing the star midfielder – if they have not already.
Tamanivalu scored nine tries for the Chiefs in the 16 games he played in 2016 – just two less than Waratahs star Israel Folau who topped Super Rugby scoring with 11.
He has three caps for the All Blacks: two against Wales in June and one against Australia last month.
