Collective Uni are hosting an event called The Awakening on March 19 located at AUT WG403 at 6:30pm.
The Awakening is a joint event run once a semester in collaboration with other Collective Uni hubs, including University of Auckland.
The Leader of Collective Uni at AUT, Hannah Cave, said that they have got the biggest AUT university hall booked.
The event is a faith-based revival night and Collective Uni are wanting to see as many people as possible attend.
Hannah Cave said the club encourages students who have questions about faith to attend.
She understands that people can have reservations about what a faith-based club can look like, but she invites students to experience it for themselves.
“[Students should] come along bring their questions, you never know until you try,” she said.
Collective Uni is a young adult outreach program started by the Young Adults of Equippers Church.
The Club broke away from the International Hub, establishing their independent club, in 2024, which focuses on creative and music spaces.
Collective Uni values consistency and ensures they continue running their weekly events.
The club understands that university can be a lonely place for students, so they want to be a space where students can be in community.
Cave said her vision for Collective Uni this year is that it would be a community for those that feel lonely to join and belong.
“And we’ve seen it, like Collective is really like a family now. It’s not just an event that we run.”

Collective Uni won AUTSA Club of the Year in 2025.
Each year in October, nominations are put out to students and club members. Club of the Year is one of 36 categories for student to vote in.
Then around seven clubs go through to a voting period, where a second survey allows students to vote on the clubs that were nominated.
AUTSA Head of Student Communities and Engagement, Madz Crouth said that Collective Uni held around 100 individual events last year which makes up approximately a quarter of 375 individual club events in 2025.
Crouth said that Collective Uni is a space that allows people to feel at home which is important.
“It can be really good to have something to go into that allows you to just be a student for a minute and not have to worry about the cost of living or transport or all of those things.
“[AUTSA are] really stoked to see not only a spirituality club get club of the year, but also to see a fairly new club get such a prestigious award.”
Collective Uni runs weekly hubs across New Zealand universities, including Auckland University, Massey University in Palmerston North, and Otago University in Dunedin.
