The English Premier League trophy was in Commercial Bay on Sunday, giving fans the chance to take photos with the iconic trophy.
The trophy was in New Zealand as part of the Australia and New Zealand trophy tour run by Sky Sport.
Running from 9am-3pm, the pop-up gave fans a chance to get a picture with the trophy and watch a live Premier League game as Brentford vs Leeds United was played on a big screen.
Many were surprised that the trophy was in town with one passerby saying he didn’t know anything about it.
“I just woke up, absolutely no idea mate! This is pretty cool though.”
Hundreds of people lined up to take a picture with the trophy as the line wrapped around Commercial Bay.
Despite the large number of fans engaging with the pop-up, many wondered why the trophy was in New Zealand, of all places.
Sky Sport NZ said that the visit was due to a surge in views of the Premier League over the past season.
“[The] Premier League has a passionate and growing fan base in New Zealand, and we are seeing consistently strong engagement with the competition.
“Premier League views on Sky Sport and Sky Open is up 20 per cent season‑on‑season, while digital engagement is up 25 per cent across Sky Sport Now and Sky Go.”

Premier League fans online commented on Sky Sports announcement of the trophy's visit to Auckland wondering if there was anything more to it.
“If only there’s a summer series of Premiere League games in NZ while it’s in the cold”
“How about a summer session in NZ?”
The last time Premier League teams visited New Zealand was in 2014 when Newcastle United and West Ham United played in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin.
Former All Whites defender Winston Reid, who played for West Ham during this tour, told media that he is looking forward to coming back.
Fans assumed that this would be with West Ham, but another tour never happened.
Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur is rumored to be playing a preseason game against Auckland FC after the Football World Cup, but nothing has been confirmed by either club.
When approached for comment, Sky Sport said that they didn’t have any other events planned alongside the Premier League.
